Microbial ecophysiology workgroup at the Estonian University of Life Sciences Center for Limnology
Salinity is among the most important factors in structuring the biota on earth. The Microbial Ecophysiology workgroup at the Estonian University of Life Sciences studies the impact of salinity on microbial community structure and function, with a focus on host associated symbionts and their interactions. In the research group modern molecular biological tools and classical microbiological approaches are used to investigate bacterial communities in the salinity gradient of the Baltic Sea and during salinity manipulation experiments.
